On Saturday, December 4th, Dance Union presents Simply Showing as its third event. The evening features a range of performers from freshly emerging to award winning choreographers exhibiting what they are currently working on in the same field of “dance”.

OosImaginary by Lisa Frank

OosImaginary is an interdisciplinary performance ensemble which focuses primarily on the interplay between improvisational music and movement. Their collaborative process places equal emphasis on rigorous physical training, hybridizing forms, & engaging with the present. Tonight’s performance will explore the possibilities of narrative and storytelling within an improvisational structure.
even sometimes when i can’t see you by Suzy Grant & Rocco Granite

Suzy moves in relation to identity led to the creation of Rocco Granite. Rocco emerged in October of 2009 as an exploration of gender, sex, racial identity, celebrity, and appearance. This piece explores celebrity, memory, and perception.
March of the Oys by The Moving Architects

Choreographer Erin Carlisle Nortonpresents the piece with music by Frank Rosaly.
Paper Shoes by The Humans

Choreographer Rachel Bunting presents an excerpt of an evening-length dance/performance work to be performed next year as a culmination of The Chicago Dancemakers Forum Lab Artist Grant.
